High School Students

High School students participate in a wide variety of clubs and social service projects that offer unique opportunities for developing leadership qualities.  Activities help them face the many challenges of day to day life with optimism and moral courage. One on one mentoring is available to all students.

New Course for Grade 12 Students: Onwards & Upwards

Start preparing for post-secondary life right now! Learn time management, study skills, campus life and more. Every participant will be provided with her own personal mentor.

Just Imagine

Just Imagine is a leadership course for girls in grades 8 and 9 who would like to get the most out of their high school years. Participants are inspired by young role models who share their experiences. A thought-provoking movie rounds out the evening.

Some topics covered are:

  • Getting to Know Yourself
  • Defining Priorities
  • Secret of Happiness
  • Free to be Me
  • Critical Thinking
  • Fashion and Image

Sessions take place in October and November, on Fridays. Space is limited to 12 participants.  To register for Just Imagine in the fall of 2018, please contact us.

Active-8 Club

Girls in grades 8 and 9 develop their individual potential through active leadership roles in community service. They learn new skills and share their talents with others through a wide variety of cultural and artistic activities. Each semester the club engages in a different project. Past projects included:

  • Producing a film that won “Best Foreign Movie” in the Rumblar International Film Festival
  • Developing a program of fun and friendship for girls on the Musqueum Reserve
  • Creating Christmas Stockings for sick children in Ronald McDonald House

Current project:

  • Producing a teen magazine

Other activities include:

  • Sharing talents with seniors at Balfour Seniors Home
  • Reflections led by a priest that sheds light on some of the challenges that teenagers face, as well as looking at the gifts they have to share with their own family and friends

CALA Club

CALA is a club dedicated to helping girls in Grades 7 and 8 develop their talents and human qualities like spirit of service and leadership skills through training in the hospitality and culinary arts. Active discussions on human virtues help the girls set specific goals to become better. Other activities include cultural outings, visits to the seniors and movie days.

The club meets every Saturday from 2:30pm – 5:30pm. For more information please contact us.

DASH Club (Determined Actions Serving Humanity)

DASH is a club for girls in grades 8 to 10. The club focuses on raising awareness of major cultural and economic issues in different countries. In partnership with LINCCO (www.lincco.org) they raise funds to train Community Health Workers in the Philippines. Other activities include:

  • Sharing talents with seniors at Balfour Seniors Home
  • A reflection led by a priest that sheds light on some aspect of challenges that teenagers face, as well as the gifts they have to share with their own family and friends

Spiritual Activities for High School Students

Weekly on Fridays

  • Reflection led by a priest that brings day to day life into relationship with God
  • Confession and spiritual direction

Monthly on the third Friday of each month

  • Recollection – a quiet time for personal prayer and consideration of day to day life in relationship with God and family and friends, reflections led by a priest

Annual Retreats

Retreats are available for girls aged 14 to 17 years. A retreat is a time to spend a weekend in a quiet atmosphere, reflecting on the direction of your life and the challenges you face. It offers an opportunity for periods of personal prayer, reflections led by a priest, daily Mass, and personal one on one spiritual direction.

An annual retreat for High School Girls is scheduled for Aug 31-Sept 2, 2018.
